BO or AO Skyper?

May 26, 2009 Janetta Garton 2 comments

Mr. Cosand’s 5th grade class in Oregon recently used  Skype to interview the author Mike Artell. Mr. Artell also conducted some drawing lessons with the students during his virtual visit. Watch this 6 minutes YouTube video to see the highlights.

There’s a new version of Skype available, so I’ll be updating my workshop materials in time for my summer training.

I am a BO Skyper, (before Oprah). How about you?

The Places We Will Go

  • Online Collaborative Project: The Places We Will Go tower
  • Grades: PreK-6th
  • Dates: April 13-May 8

  • Description: JenuineTech is offering a great collaborative project this month that has students using Google Earth to locate a variety of landmarks around the world, and calculating the distance of these from their school.  Don’t let the Google Earth requirement intimidate you.  Jen provides a file that when opened in Google Earth has the landmarks tagged. She includes a tutorial on how to placemark your school and  use the ruler tool to measure the distances. Also, I am happy to help you in any way.
