Mary Frasier Scholarship

Application Deadline is July 19 for taking advantage of an Exciting Opportunity for Missouri Teachers in Title One Schools

If you are a teacher or counselor in a Title One school, you are eligible to apply for a Mary Frasier Scholarship to pay your expenses to attend the National Gifted Education Convention to be held in St. Louis November 5-8, 2009. The primary purpose of the Javits-Frasier Teacher Scholarship Fund for Diverse Talent Development is to increase culturally and linguistically diverse students’ access to talent development opportunities through teacher and school counselor/psychologist training and support related to equity and excellence in gifted education.

NAGC recognizes the vital role that educators play in identifying and developing gifts and talents in today’s diverse student body and supports nationwide efforts to provide training to ensure highly qualified educators in every classroom. Grant Alert

The Best Buy Teach Award provides grants for the innovative use of technology in K-12 classrooms.

  • $2,000 will be awarded to up to 1,300 schools
  • $10,000 will be awarded to up to 50 schools
  • $100,000 will be awarded to 8 school districts

Complete an on-line application by September 30, 2007. Winners of the $2,000 and $10,000 awards will be announced in February 2008, and eight $100,000 district-level awards in May 2008.

Through the program, CDW-G and Discovery Education will provide winning K-12 schools with a technology solution valued at more than $50,000. Each lab includes 20 laptop computers, a wireless cart and access point, educational software, and training. You can enter once a day until May 1, 2007.
