New Themes at Wikispaces

FYI: Recently, Wikispaces rolled out some new themes. Go to your wiki’s Manage Wiki page. In the Settings row click Look and Feel. Under Theme click the link to Change or make a new theme. You will find 12 choices. Click the Preview button to see what your wiki will look like with a particular them. Click the Apply button to use that theme.

The Notebook theme is fun, while Tatami is a very minimalist look. If I can get used to the menu being on the right, I will use the Glass theme.

Wikispaces Screencasts and Free Online Course Available

A wiki is a web site that can be easily edited by multiple users simultaneously, from any computer with an Internet connection, with no additional software.

The Wonder of Wikis

• Software: There are free wiki services available. Wikis are browser-based, which means the only required software is a browser.
• Collaboration: A Wiki can have multiple authors.
• Security: Options are provided for who can view and edit the wiki.
• History: A chronological list of changes is available to document who has done what, and allow authors to revert back to previous versions if desired.
• Easy and Versatile: Provided navigation makes is simple to set up multiple pages as you need them. Adding images, embedding videos and slideshows, and including hyperlinks is easy.
• RSS: you can subscribe to the pages of a wiki to be notified of any changes through your reader, or by email, as opposed to checking the site manually.
